The basic rules for success in my class include: º Come to class prepared to learn every day! º Be respectful of others needs and ideas in class. º Bring all of your supplies with you when you come to class! º Be responsible for your own learning and products. Supplies needed daily in class: º Notebook paper, pen/pencil, spiral for notes º Literature textbook º AR book and Reading log What we’re studying each 6 weeks in English IV:
Pre-AP English I students follow an intensive course of study in reading, analysis, and writing in preparation for college level courses. Students will learn literary devices and techniques used in close reading, apply critical discussion, and will employ the TP-CASTT analysis system in poetry explication. Independent Reading Projects are required from the College Bound reading list every six weeks as a test grade. Coursework in this class reflects assignments normally attempted in junior and senior level English classes and is both challenging and rigorous. |
